IBM, Red Hat, Novell tighten sales partnerships
As they used to say, "You won't get fired for buying IBM," so now IBM is expanding its sales partnerships with the top two Linux companies. There will be a dedicated sales team to push bundles of IBM hardware pre-configured with the operating systems, middleware and support methods of Red Hat and Novell/SuSE, officials said. Meanwhile, Red Hat and Novell will both endorse the IBM's preferred Apache/Geronimo Web Community Server (for Java applications), the Derby lightweight Javadatabase and the Eclipse development environment.
