Hybrid IP-PBX, wave of the future?
While small organizations are deploying voice-over-IP solutions, larger organizations are more prone to installing hybrids of packet-switched and traditional circuit-switched telephony, analysts at Dell'Oro Group said. Avaya, Siemens and Cisco Systems are the leading vendors in this trend, along with NEC and Inter-Tel. Changing entirely from traditional to IP systems is too much for most groups to handle at once, and some applications will always require the five-nines reliability and speed of regular phone lines.
