HTC creates UMPC for people who hate UMPCs

Intel may launch chips especially for UMPCs, Samsung may have second-generation UMPCs in the works but I'll be darned if I care--the things don't even have keyboards, for crying out loud! Along comes HTC, makers of the T-Mobile Dash, with their Shift, the UMPC that's not really a UMPC. You see, it has all of the features that you want in an UMPC (ultraportability, light-weight, touchscreen, wireless connectivity, Vista support) plus a few features that you don't expect (full QWERTY keyboard, Tri-Band UMTS/HSDPA, Quad-Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, fingerprint scanner). From the looks of it, this thing has what it takes to be a full-fledged laptop replacement that you can carry around in your pocket. No word yet on pricing but expect to see it on shelves sometime in Q3 of this year.
