HP merges Peregrine software into OpenView
Hewlett-Packard's OpenView Service Desk now includes an integrated version of Peregrine Systems software, officials said. HP acquired Peregrine in September last year for $425 million to get its IT asset tracking tools and to catch up with rivals CA and IBM/Tivoli. HP's approach also includes IT change management--that is, keeping track of not just IT inventory but also how it's all configured.
