HP backs carrier-grade Debian GNU/Linux

Hewlett-Packard officials said they're now supporting Debian-based Linux distributions for carrier-grade environments. Debian is not as popular as the operating systems from Red Hat or Novell, but it's been on the rise lately via the Ubuntu release. Debian will also see more HP involvement at community events along with an unspecified number of programmers who'll write for it.
