How to:Unlock an iPhone sans contract

Not too long ago, we showed you how to use an iPhone with an old AT&T/Cingular SIM card. Thanks to the latest breakthroughs in hacking, the iPhone can now be unlocked without the need for any sort of SIM card (keep in mind that this will only allow you to use the phone as an iPod and WiFi device--calling and EDGE browsing will remain off-limits). Using iActivator, a GUI-based app for OS X, iPhone owners can activate or deactivate their phone, while also enabling disk use.
