Let the hacks continue! While adding support for files not supported by the Apple TV was one of the first hacks available, it involved cracking open the device and trying to figure things out for yourself. I say, if you're going to void your warranty, you might as well know what you're doing. So thanks be to the good folks at Engadget, who've put together a handy step-by-step guide that will have you watching those DivX flicks on your TV in no time. Sure, it still requires popping open the Apple TV and removing the hard drive. But at least you won't have to head into dangerous waters without a treasure map.
