How to: Revive a dead iPod, the extreme way
If you've been using iPods for a few years, chances are that you've encountered a dead iPod or two. Since the the device is made using what is essentially disposable technology, most iPods won't last more than a few years, even under ideal use conditions. There are a variety of ways that an iPod's life can end and a number of ways that an enterprising Apple fan can resuscitate a dead unit: battery replacement, a new hard drive, repairing broken connections. There are, however, a few "alternative" methods that iPod users have discovered thanks to experimentation (and possibly anger). Try slamming your iPod against a hard surface or popping the hard drive in the freezer for a day. Of course, you may want to watch the video before you start flogging a dead iPod (and voiding its warranty).
