Hoax email, RSS latest security threats

Fake emails with shocking news about celebrities and current events, as well as vacation e-postcards such as the kind a friend might send you, are unshockingly being used more often recently by malicious hackers as a software distribution method. Attackers can time the messages to appear immediately after IT vendors announce patches but before enterprises have a chance to install them. It appears that attackers have another weapon coming soon to their arsenal: the addition of RSS functions to Internet Explorer 7 and to Longhorn, the next-generation version of Windows. RSS feeds will be an easy way for attackers to enter desktops disguised as messages that users requested.
