Google: We want to search before you even ask
Speaking at the TechCrunch Disrupt event this week, Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) CEO Eric Schmidt shared a glimpse into a future where a mobile device will conduct searches even before we inquire about something. While walking down a street at lunch time, for example, a smartphone--which is really an Internet-connected portable computer these days--could compile a list of nearby restaurants that serve dishes that Google knows we like, based on previous Google searches. In a nutshell, Google's search technology will be autonomous.
Of course, the invasion of privacy inherent to such technology is downright scary, and Schmidt noted that people's consent for such sharing of information will be required. In addition, he also talked about how people will never be bored, due to the availability of some form of entertainment or other that will always be available online.
