Google starts hiring again
In a sign that the economy is truly starting to pick up, Google has announced that it plans to resume hiring and begin to acquire new companies again. This comes on the heels of the company reporting revenues of $5.94 billion for the third quarter, or up 7 percent from the same quarter last year and beating the expectations of Wall Street analysts.
As reported by ZDNet, CEO Eric Schmidt said that the company now feels "confident about investing heavily in our future." As such, Google will be stepping up hiring, particularly in the areas of engineering and sales. Significantly, Schmidt spoke of how advertisers have told Google they wanted to spend on Google ads, but are keen on new ways to advertise.
Together with the anticipated delivery of the company's open-source Chrome operating system soon--a developer's version will be out later this year--and an expected increase in the adoption of its Android mobile OS, it is easy to see why Google is hiring.
