Gartner summit: Biz CRM is past growing pains
What's the state of business CRM? "In the last five or six years, CRM has focused on small, departmental initiatives. What we're seeing is a return to large-scale initiatives with a return to the enterprise view," Gartner VP and analyst Scott Nelson said. He and other analysts also cited improved CRM evaluation metrics, the rise of online modular software ("service-oriented architectures") and Oracle's acquisition of Siebel as signs of a ready-for-primetime software category.
