Explosive growth seen for VoWLAN

The voice over wireless networking industry will grow from about $8 million in revenue to about $2.45 billion by 2010, according to Frost & Sullivan. It's encouraging that many companies are working together for Unlicensed Mobile Access, which is a cellular-to-WLAN switching method. UMA lacks support for session initiative protocol (SIP, used for VoIP) and for quality-of-service techniques, but there is still time to deal with that, the report states.
