Enterprise search grows in importance
Enterprise users are increasingly demanding tools that they can use to search for documents on their intranet. This was confirmed by Lyndy Ng, the director of SaaS, infrastructure management and solutions of NCS, who told ZDNet Asia that the company is receiving more interest in this area from its enterprise customers. NCS is an IT and communications engineering solutions provider serving the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions.
Ng noted that such solutions in the past were limited to staffers with technical know-how. By this, she means those who know the rigid and unforgiving command syntax required to coax the results from legacy search systems. With the advent of search tools similar to those used on the web however, enterprise users are able to benefit from increased productivity, and could quickly find the documents and data they require.
