End-point protection with Faronics Anti-Executable
Businesses looking to bolster their defenses beyond traditional blacklisting protection might want to take a look at Faronics Anti-Executable, which offers end-point protection against unauthorized applications. The whitelisting security software is available in Enterprise or Standard editions; the former caters to centralized management while the latter is designed for stand-alone deployments. I tried the version 3.6 of Anti-Executable Standard, which comes with Trusted Publisher feature to reduce the amount of alerts--software from reputable vendors is automatically cleared for installation. Alternatively, an administrator password will need to be entered for any new applications to be executed. Read more on Faronics Anti-Executable, here.
