EMC unveils admin tools, buys security firm
EMC today debuted Infoscape, a single management dashboard for the company's wide range of software acquisitions during the past three years. The major acquisitions were Documentum, Legato, RSA, VMware and another one announced today--Network Intelligence for $175 million. EMC still needs to do a huge amount of heavy lifting to integrate its software, but its large rivals like IBM and Oracle are in the same position. EMC also said it will continue buying back stock--up to $3 billion this year.
