In addition to EMC's recently announced IT security partnerships, the storage company also plans to create additional network management and data resource management products, officials said. Those will be based on technology from last fall's System Management Arts acquisition and also from EMC's Documentum subsidiary. The company is just one-third done with product rollouts that will continue for another eight months. Software and services, not hardware, will continue to be EMC's acquisition and investment targets, officials added.
