Editor's Corner

My name is Mehan Jayasuriya and starting today, I'll be taking over as the daily editor of FierceEnterprise. You might notice a few changes to our daily coverage over the next few weeks but rest assured, it will all be in the name of bringing you the latest and most relevant enterprise news stories as they break. Most notably, I'll be using my IT background and knowledge of hardware and software platforms to bring you more in-depth analysis of the stories that affect IT staff. As always, any and all questions, comments and concerns are welcome, simply email me with any thoughts you might have.

You'll probably notice that today's issue is rather security-centric. This is due in no small part to this past weekend's ToorCon hacker and security convention, as well as increased hacker activity during this past week. Whether you support Windows, Apple or even Linux, there's a new security issue that concerns you. As today's story on Windows patches demonstrates however, scrappy hackers are becoming the source of and the solution to some security headaches. At a time when even Microsoft can't keep up with exploits, it's good to know that someone still has our back. - Mehan
