Does gaming at work improve productivity?
I came across an article over at PC World which says the traditional taboos against gaming in the workplace are beginning to change. A number of companies are even using video games to help employees relax or to reward them. Honestly, I don't see how something as distracting as a game can improve office productivity and morale.
However, I did find it interesting that games are being used to keep workers awake in special situations, such as paramedics working long overnight shifts. Monterey Bay Area paramedics actually have management's blessing when they engage in casual games like the popular Bejeweled on PDAs during their downtime. What do you think? I would love to hear your opinion with regard to this, so please leave a comment below.
