Dell cans Axim, PDA death knell rings loud and clear
Dell has officially discontinued its Axim line of PDAs, the only product that the company sold in that market segment. "The Axim X51 family is no longer being offered, and we have no plans for a follow-on product at this time," a company spokesperson said in a statement. As we all know, Dell has fallen on tough times, so it should come as no surprise that less popular products are going under the chopping block. Since the advent of the smartphone, the PDA has been on track for extinction, so expect other manufacturers to eventually follow suit. Will you refuse to give up your precious PDA until the bitter end? Let us know in the comments.
