Debian alliance eyes the enterprise
A group of Debian Linux distributors announced a new Linux Standards Base core, DCC 3.0, to challenge the enterprise Linuxes of Red Hat and Novell/SuSE. (DCC is a recursive acronym for "DCC Common Core.") This version has code which eases the steps necessary for commercial ISVs to implement it, officials said. But whether or not there's room in the market for a third enterprise Linux remains to be seen.
