Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 is expected to be unveiled today in San Francisco.  Engineers at the open source company have been working on a set of capabilities that let customers have a major say in the direction of future technologies and capabilities. In true open source form, Brian Stevens, CTO of Red Hat, told eWeek that his engineers will be working with customers to get a better understanding of their infrastructure and environments. "This service relationship will be unique and unlike anything we have done in the past in terms of upgrades and sustainability," he said. Red Hat isn't the first to tap into the experiences of its customers. Several tech firms and even some consumer-goods companies have set up similar initiatives.
