Concerto Software to buy Aspect for $1B
Call center giants Concerto and Aspect will merge, with Concerto paying $1 billion, 15 percent over Aspect's current stock value, to take it private. Concerto, originally Datavox, began in 1981 and has a long history of acquisitions, while Aspect is a 20-year-old company. There's no word yet on any of the product plans or potential layoffs. Officials say the deal will allow for greater R&D spending.
