Cisco plugs optical security holes

Cisco Systems announced an operating system patch for five bugs in its Optical Networking System 15000 routers. The bugs could allow for remote denial-of-service attacks. Affected parts of the software included its transport controller, packet processing, packet handling, path determination and applet launcher. Cisco also issued a security advisory for the 11500 series of content switches.
