Cisco brings web conferencing to smartphones
Even though it doesn't make any smartphones, networking giant Cisco is working to make sure that busy executives will soon be able to participate in web conferences without having to fire up their laptops. This will be possible via versions of Cisco's WebEx client software that will be made available on several smartphone platforms.
At the moment, various BlackBerry smartphones such as the latest BlackBerry Bold, BlackBerry Curve 8900 and the BlackBerry Storm are supported. In addition, clients for Nokia E series and N series devices such as the Nokia E71, Nokia E75 and Nokia N97 will also be made available. Cisco already offers the capability on the Apple iPhone 3G.
