Bob Young, a co-founder of Red Hat, resigned from its board of directors. He now plans to focus on a dot-com firm in the publishing field.

Nortel hired Mike Zafirovski to replace outgoing CEO Bill Owens. Owens only had the job for 18 months and much of his staff left as well.

Ward Cunningham, the inventor of Wiki technology, is leaving his programming and research job at Microsoft to work for the open-source Eclipse Foundation.

The National Association of State CIOs has named Matt Miszewski, Wisconsin CIO, as its new president. Michigan CIO Teresa Takai has been tapped as vice president.

Debra Stouffer has been named to head up business development at Digital Management, an IT services provider. She formerly served as VP of business development at BAE Systems and has held number IT positions within government agencies.
