Browsers to give trusted sites a green look

Software developers representing the Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera and Konqueror camps met recently in Toronto to discuss Web security. They agreed to build features that turn a browser's address bar green when users reach a safe site. Red is also used in Internet Explorer 7 to indicate a suspected phishing site; presumably there would be a yellow indication for everything non-harmful but non-certified in the middle. This could take 18 months to implement.
