Brocade Communications Systems is acquiring NuView for $60 million. NuView has been through three incarnations, each sold. The current NuView makes file management tools for network-attached storage. They're already partners with EMC, Microsoft and Network Appliance, so it should not take long for NuView's StorageX suite to become integrated with Brocade's Tapestry platform. However, Hewlett-Packard and Veritas (pre-Symantec) already made similar deals, so Brocade is playing catch-up in the storage industry.
