Beatles coming to iTunes store? Fans twist and shout

This rumor has been floating about in the Internet ether for some time now but it's finally getting meaty enough to sink your teeth into: The Beatles catalog is coming to iTunes in digital form. Given the number of blatant Beatles hints dropped during Steve Jobs's MacWorld keynote and the fact that Apple has dropped the "Computer" from it's name, it's quite obvious that some sort of agreement between the previously warring companies (Apple Inc. and Apple Corps.) has been reached. But to what end? Our own Jason Ankeny, of FierceMobileContent fame, pontificated on this very issue exactly one week ago and predicted that digitally remastered versions of the Beatles albums will be made available for the first time in the iTunes Store--alongside a special-edition Beatles iPod. As if that wasn't enough to pack Best Buy with baby boomers screeching like it's 1964, the deal will allegedly culminate with the release of said products on Valentine's Day, in keeping with the Beatles' latest remix album, Love. Start dropping hints to your significant other now, folks.
