Asus to split OEM business, become more competitive

In an attempt to focus on its core business and thereby become more competitive, Taiwanese manufacturer Asustek--known best by U.S. consumers by the brand name Asus--has announced that it will split its OEM business into two separate business units. Starting in January 2008, Pegatron will handle PC-related manufacturing while Unihan will handle cases, modules and non-PC goods. As you may already know, Asustek is already the top manufacturer of PC motherboards so Dell, HP and Lenovo had best look alive.
