Asus Eee PC gets reviewed
We've been hearing a lot about Asus' wee Eee PC during the past few weeks--how much it costs, what its specs are, when it will ship--but up until now, we still weren't quite convinced that the thing actually existed. Now, however, Laptop magazine has gotten their hands on an actual production unit, putting an end to all the speculation. What did they think? Laptop liked the Eee enough to award it with a four star rating for its form factor, user friendly OS and built-in applications. "It's ten times simpler to use than any Windows machine, starts up twice as fast (no crapware!), and is only about a fifth of the cost of other systems in its weight class," Laptop writes. "It's a little rough around the edges, but the Eee PC is a remarkably versatile machine for the price."
