Apple unveils Xeons, next Mac OS
Apple CEO and co-founder Steve Jobs said his company's change to Intel chips is now complete with the announcement of 64-bit Macintosh and Xserve units. The new Mac Pro runs up to 3.0GHz, while the Xserve can hold more than 2TB and uses two dual-core Intel Xeon chips. Jobs also demonstrated OS X 10.5, known as Jaguar, but dubbed it "Vista 2.0" for the day in a direct mocking of Microsoft's delays and difficulties with the Windows XP successor.
