Apple TV hard drive upgrades: no assembly required
If this isn't proof of the Apple TV's hackability, I don't know what is. As if a step-by-step hacking guide wasn't enough, a company called WeaKnees has started shipping a $199 hard drive upgrade kit, which makes hacking your Apple TV a snap. The company sends you a pre-formatted 160GB Seagate drive and a step-by-step instruction manual; all that's left to you is popping the little guy open and swapping out the hard drive. Still too much work? For an extra $49, they'll even do it for you. This opens up the illustrious world of Apple TV hacking to grandmas, lesser primates and common houseplants--the true television revolution can't be far behind.
