AOL ending Netscape support
February 22, 2008 — 7:59am ET
Netscape, the web browser that introduced many a geek to the Internet, has finally reached the end of the line. AOL has announced that come March 1st, they will stop supporting the ancient browser--that means no more security patches or bug fixes. AOL is recommending that any remaining hangers-on look to Firefox, a browser that's based in part on the Netscape codebase.
