Announcing our new Q&A series
![]()
As we continuously strive to be a time-saving, information technology resource to the readers of FierceCIO:TechWatch, we have launched an interview series. In March, we began regular Q&As with some of the leading equipment makers of enterprise Wireless LAN (WLAN). The motivation behind this comes as part of a larger goal to offer unique insights into upcoming or mainstream technologies not usually found in news reports or press releases.
The idea here is simple, to focus on a different topic every month, and connect with executives from both niche and mainstream vendors. Essentially, we pick their brains for deployment tips, common mistakes and misconceptions related to the chosen topic. And of course, we also ask them about why their technologies or products give them an edge over that of their competitors.
Here is the lineup of topics currently scheduled for the next few months:
- March: Enterprise WLAN (Ruckus Wireless, Fortinet, Xirrus, Aruba Networks)
- April: Storage
- May: Mobility (Management)
- June: Security
- July: Virtualization
All Q&As will be published in Tuesday's edition of FierceCIO:TechWatch; they can also be directly accessed from this link. For weeks that might be without a new Q&A, we ask for your patience in advance as we iron-out our vendor selection and interviewing process. Over time though, we hope to build up a repository of Q&As that you can use as a future reference.
Before I sign off this week, I want to emphasize that our efforts on this front are conducted independently of our sales and marketing. To put it bluntly, featured vendors do not pay to talk to us; nor do they get a 'free' slot as part of an advertising package with FierceMarkets. This is something that we are inordinately proud of, and my firm opinion is that only by having complete editorial independence can we deliver genuine value to our readers.
As usual, all suggestions and feedback are most welcome. - Paul Mah (Twitter @paulmah)
