AMD renews chip war with suit against Intel
After a decade of détente, chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices is suing Intel -- again -- for allegedly violating California and federal antitrust laws. Why now? Intel's already been painted as a violator in Japan, there's currently a strong case happening in the European Commission, and AMD feels it has new evidence, such as Intel supposedly not paying a Hewlett-Packard rebate after HP signed a deal with AMD, and crushing Gateway for sport.
