AMD looks toward China for growth

AMD continues to eat away at Intel's market-share and the next front for the ongoing microprocessor battle could be China. Much like American vendor Dell, Chinese PC manufacturers Lenovo and the Founder Group have recently introduced products based on AMD chips. China currently represents the world's second largest market for PC sales and continues to grow at an astonishing (if geographically uneven) rate. "(Intel) still has a stronghold in many regions of the world, and we need to make sure that we can provide the technology to give people choice," said Gustavo Arenas, AMD's corporate vice president and managing director for emerging markets.
