802.11n: A risk worth taking?

With more companies releasing draft-802.11n gear, an increasing presence for the standard in retail channels and what is--hopefully--the wireless standard's final go at ratification, now might seem like the time to deploy 802.11n in your business. While there are certainly a number of reasons why 802.11n is an attractive option for consumers, the business case is a little different. Sure, 802.11n potentially offers increased bandwidth, signal range and reliability. But in a business environment where interoperability between devices from different manufacturers is essential, 802.11n might not be ready for prime time. The folks at eWeek labs "found that interoperability among products based on different manufacturers' chip sets is possible out of the box, but it won't come easy or reliably."
