Higher fuel and food prices, as well as concerns over a recession failed to prevent a solid second quarter showing in worldwide server sales. Data from analyst firm Gartner shows year-on-year growth of 12 percent compared to the last year when it comes to the number of units shipped. In terms of revenue, IBM regained its position over rival HP, which took that spot in the first quarter. IBM also grew by 11.5 percent in actual revenue, versus HP's single digit growth of just 2.9 percent. HP continues to hold the top spot in unit shipments though, with 30.2 percent of the market under its belt, while Dell remained in second plate with 24.7 percent of the market.
