Windy City jumps on WiFi bandwagon
The latest municipality to jump on getting citywide WiFi in place is Chicago, where officials hope to have the project done by 2007. Though the city already has dozens of hotspots available to residents, the goal is to provide availability to 228 sq. mi.--a much bigger network than predecessors Philadelphia and San Francisco. The Windy City's effort will be the largest municipal WiFi deployment to date.
