WiMAX security is a serious issue
January 10, 2007 — 8:01pm ET
If your IT team is getting ready to deploy that much needed WiMAX network there's some bad news ahead: the built-in security isn't as good as you may think. Experts say that vendors need to step up and plug some serious vulnerabilities that can arise in three specific pieces of networking technology--PC terminals, connectivity services and intrusion detection. Right now, there isn't a lot of integration going on either, especially between WiMAX providers and security vendors. You might be better off waiting until security is part of the whole package.
