Why SIP makes good financial sense
As one Voice over Internet Protocol software maker explains, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) has finally entered the mainstream in terms of adoption, but still has a ways to go--about the same transition time it took for companies to move from analog to digital. But it will happen, says Interactive Intelligence CEO Don Brown, as it's already proven to be a valuable technology for his company--benefiting from a 40 to 50 percent reduction in costs by moving from a proprietary hardware based solution to VoIP using the SIP standard.
