Why it's time to get to know Vista
Your organization is likely still mulling over when, and if, you'll take the plunge when Microsoft's upcoming Vista is finally ready to grab. The good news is that you've got some time (last reported release date was near January 2007) to debate the pros and cons, figure out what the upgrade will involve in terms of time and money and assess whether you want to be an early adopter or hang back and watch how it goes with other enterprises. Experts say most organizations will take a "wait and see" approach due to the investment required in testing, training and overall deployment issues. That time can be spent wisely, say experts, as there's still a lot to learn about the new system's security functions and operations features.
