Why IT must lead the BPM charge
You likely know it by another name but business process management (known formerly as business process re-engineering) is gaining traction once again in the enterprise, as companies take a long hard look at processes to increase efficiency and save money. One possible option is using automation wherever possible or even outsourcing the non-critical tech work. It's an IT project that has to be continually energized with modeling, analysis and monitoring--not a one time act. As one CIO explains, the IT team is the best choice for leading the BPM charge.
