If you're not sure what ADM stands for today, you will very shortly. Application dependency mapping (ADM) is finally gaining favor thanks to a slew of different reasons--from achieving better compliance rates to more efficient management of network resources. The most curious thing is that ADM is far from new--the capability to automatically map applications to the infrastructure and provide network admins insight on the components the applications brush against during network action has been around for awhile. But now that enterprises are trying to get a firmer grip on providing essential network applications to users when needed, the technology is gaining greater attention.
