When is too much Internet too much?

This week, we report on an issue that might seem trivial. The idea of Internet addiction has often been joked about, but few have really taken it seriously. Until now. Given our line of work, most of us probably feel the pull to of the Internet from time to time. How do you feel when you can't get to it? If you find yourself feeling frustrated when away from a computer, it might be time to take a breather and remember that you don't have to work 24/7. Remember: the key to a good work/life balance is to leave your work at the office when you go home for the day. -Judi

As a tangentially practicing pathologist, I understand symptomology and recognize subclinical findings when presented.

I am engaged in focused hospital project in the Middle East and I do not have a life outside the office. I entain myself with medical literature citations, product information, case studies, ad naseum, ad naseum and I like it that way. I spend between 25 - 35 hours on the Internet/email over the weekends (not including the work week) or as I like to put it, "online education." Look at all the virtual-CME/CEU I'm racking up.
