What lies ahead in VoIP capabilities
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is no longer a babe in the technology woods. As some IT analysts and experts note, putting voice over IP opens a whole new world when it comes to software architecture and integrated application capabilities. They'll come a day when an application will initiate calls to the proper personnel to get sign-offs on orders and data processing, and that day is getting closer by the second. In fact one vendor believes such voice/data integration will cement presence in all applications by 2010.
