Wall Street signals IT comeback
There's some growing confidence that IT is making a comeback on Wall Street, according to an article from PCWorld.com. The signs are starting to emerge after a good week on Nasdaq, the tech-heavy market, that had its longest winning streak--12 straight days of gains--since 1992. Last Thursday, Nasdaq and other major indexes hit their peaks for the year.
Looking at Nasdaq may be like reading the tea leaves right now but it's hard to ignore that shares of Nasdaq's computer and telecom companies are up about 41 percent for the year.
What will the rest of the year look like? It's anyone's guess. But it may be clear that the recession is receding and life is getting back to normal.
