Vista malware reported on launch day

Security researchers have already discovered a vulnerability in Microsoft's Windows Vista, which only debuted yesterday. According to Sophos, there are three virus strains that are typically spread through email that could infect Vista systems using a third party web-based mail client: Stratio-Zip, Netsky-D and MyDoom-O. Though Vista's email client stops the malware apps, they're able to avert detection when delivered though a web-mail application. Yet another security expert says it isn't an issue if enterprises have additional defenses set up. The chief research officer at F-Secure explains that Vista will warn a user before allowing them to install the software. In essence, control rests in the hands of the user.
