University employee data left unprotected

Describing the security breach as a "regrettable incident," officials at the University of Kentucky are investigating how a spreadsheet document listing out employees' social security numbers ended up on an open and accessible Web site and stayed there unnoticed for several weeks. While 41 hits were discovered on the page, officials say there is no evidence that the ID information has been used for illegal purposes.
